Alan Duffy

Alan Duffy
Head of Corporate Banking Ireland

Alan Duffy Heads up the HSBC Corporate Banking team in Ireland. He has twenty years of international corporate lending experience focusing on the origination and execution of transactions and has worked with market leading banks such as ING Bank N.V, Banque Brussels Lambert, and Scotiabank.

Prior to joining HSBC in 2006 Alan held the position of Head of Wholesale Banking for ING Bank N.V. based in Dublin. Alan has also held the position of Head of Lending with Banque Bruxelles Lambert. Alan also spent five years with Scotiabank (Ireland) Limited, with responsibility for originating corporate lending opportunities primarily in the shipping and pulp & paper industries throughout the Nordic market.

Alan commenced his career with the Bank of Nova Scotia and First Southern Bank working across a range of client facing roles. He holds a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from Trinity College Dublin, and an MBA from the Smurfit Business School, University College Dublin.


Tom Kilraine

Chief Operating Officer

Tom joined HSBC in Oct 2008 from Capmark Bank plc. where he was European Head of Credit & Risk for 4 years, based in Dublin. Prior to that he spent ten years working in a variety of corporate and commercial banking roles at Bank of Ireland and HVB in the UK Tom’s early career included working as a Civil Engineer at a variety of International Engineering Companies.

Tom is an Engineering graduate of Trinity College Dublin holding a BA BAI, and holds a Finance MBA from the Cass Business School, City University London.


Ananth Krishnan Parthasarathy

Ananth Krishnan Parthasarathy
Head of Trade & Supply Chain

Ananth joined HSBC Dublin in February 2009 after working in HSBC in India for 17 years. In his last assignment, Ananth was a Senior Vice President, leading a 200 member team as the head of the Middle Office for HSBC's Trade business in India.

Prior to that, Ananth worked with HSBC Bank in India in a number of roles ranging from Personal Banking, Operations, Financial Control and Corporate Banking division, dealing with local and multinational clients across India.

Ananth has over 6 years of Trade Finance expertise which is his area of specialisation. He works with clients to understand their trade cycle, designs trade solutions and financing structures whilst minimising the risks of cross border business. This helps importers and exporters not only to meet today's needs but also helps them set strategies for their growth tomorrow.

Ananth is a Bachelor of Science Graduate from Chennai University and an MBA from International Management Institute in New Delhi.


Sean MacHale

Sean MacHale
Head of Treasury Global Markets

Sean joined HSBC in November 2008 from Barclays Capital where he was a Senior Dealer covering large cap Corporates and the Institutional sector.

Prior to that he spent five years at Bank of Ireland Global Markets, working with Institutional and Multinational corporate clients. His early career was spent in the London dealing room of AIB Global Markets. Sean assists clients in managing their risk exposures so as to minimise the impact of market volatility. This includes analysing the business/balance sheet structure of the company and quantifying the net exposures in terms of interest rates, foreign exchange, mismatch in cash flows, etc.

Sean is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate of National University College Galway and is FSA approved and regulated.


Karen Sloan

Karen Sloan
Head of Payments and Cash Management

Karen joined HSBC from Merrill Lynch where she worked as Vice President, Cash Management Services. Prior to that she was Treasury Manager with Ingersoll Rand responsible for SSC Customer Relations. Karen started her career with 9 years at Exel plc (formerly Ocean Group plc) in Group Treasury based in the UK and then back in Ireland in the SSC responsible for Cash Management Agency Accounting.


Michael Lalor

Michael Lalor
Senior Relationship Director

Michael joined HSBC in July 2007 and has 10 years experience in the Irish financial market working in corporate & commercial lending roles. Michael is a former employee of Allied Irish Banks Corporate Banking and Goodbody Stockbrokers - Private Clients. Michael is a BComm graduate from University College Dublin.


Ian McElwain

Ian McElwain
Senior Relationship Director

Ian joined HSBC in March 2010 from Ulster Bank where he worked for 5 years as a Senior Relationship Manager covering large corporates in Corporate Banking.

Previously he worked as a Risk Manager in the Corporate Credit unit. Ian's early career was spent in National Australia Bank in their CIB team in Dublin and National Irish Bank in a variety of client facing and restructuring roles.

Ian is an Economics graduate of University College Dublin.


Gerry Bradleyr

Gerry Bradley
Senior Operations Manager

Gerry is responsible for Business Implementation and the provision of a high quality customer service and the management of various projects.

He joined HSBC in 1999 and prior to that managed the International Division of National Irish Bank for 14 years. Gerry has an in-depth knowledge of Payments, Cash Management and Trade Services. He is a former Chairman of the Irish SWIFT User Group and also was Chairman of the Federation of International Banks in Ireland – Operations Managers Committee during 2003.

Gerry holds a number of relevant banking qualifications from The Institute of Bankers.


Gareth Governey

Gareth Governey
Relationship Manager

Gareth joined HSBC in August 2011 from AIB Corporate Banking in London where he was a senior manager. During his six years in London he gained extensive experience in corporate lending, acquisition finance and debt restructuring. Gareth has worked for over 10 years in the financial services sector having previously qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in its Financial Services division. He holds a BA (Hons) Business and Economics from Trinity College Dublin.


John O'Connor

John O'Connor
Relationship Manager

John joined HSBC from EBS Commercial with over 4 years experience in commercial lending.

Prior to this John worked in the reinsurance sector with RGA Reinsurance in Sydney, Australia.

John is a Business and Legal Studies graduate from University College Dublin, a Qualified Financial Advisor and holds a Diploma in Corporate Banking from the Institute of Bankers.


Aoife Wallace

Aoife Wallace
Trade & Supply Chain Manager

Aoife joined HSBC in December 2010 from Credit Agricole in France, where she worked for four years as an International Trade Finance Specialist. Aoife speaks fluent French and has solid experience in Trade Finance.

Aoife holds a Masters Degree in International Business from the Dublin Institute of Technology and an International BA in French and Economics (Hons) from the University College Dublin.


Eoin O'Sullivan

Eoin O'Sullivan
Treasury Global Markets Senior Dealer

Eoin joined HSBC Global Markets in November 2009. He has ten years of experience, assisting clients manage their foreign exchange and interest rate risk. Eoin previously worked for Bank of Scotland (Ireland) and prior to this, his early career was spent at Bank of Ireland Global Markets.

Eoin is a Bachelor of Science graduate of University of South Florida.


Brian O'Brien

Payments & Cash Management Product Manager

Brian joined HSBC in May 2011 from AIB plc where he worked for 31 years, including 7 years as a Product Manager for International Payments & Cash Management products in AIB Capital Markets.

Brian's extensive financial experience covers both the retail and corporate banking sectors. He has worked in a variety of roles including International Banking Sales, Payments and Cash Management Sales, PCM Product Design and Product Implementation. Brian has also worked as a Business Analyst for CR2 plc, which specialises in the development of banking software systems.

Brian is a graduate of University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Psychology and holds a Certificate in Marketing from the Irish Marketing Institute.


Lorraine Rice

Payments & Cash Management Sales Manager

Lorraine joined HSBC in June 2008, from Bank Of Ireland and has 6 years experience in the financial field in both Ireland and UK.

During her time in Bank of Ireland Lorraine worked in BOI Commercial, based in the Bristol and BOI Finance in Dublin.

Her previous career included a variety of analytical roles in the Science industry. Lorraine is a BSc graduate from Dublin City University.


Stephen Murphy

Stephen joined HSBC in February 2010 from Bank of Ireland with four years corporate lending experience.

Prior to this, Stephen worked with Deloitte Consulting in Edinburgh Scotland for over two years, primarily in the financial services sector.

Stephen is a Civil Engineering graduate and MBS postgraduate from University College Cork.


Anshika Pandalai

Anshika joined HSBC Ireland in 2008. Prior to moving to Ireland, Anshika was with HSBC India for over 3 years with experience in Personal Banking and Wealth Management.

Anshika is a Bachelor of Arts Graduate from Lady Shree Ram College, New Delhi and holds a MBA from the Global Business School, New Delhi.

Brendan joined HSBC in August 2010 from Allied Irish Banks Corporate Banking, where he worked for 5 years in a Relationship Management role covering large corporates.

Brendan is a BSc Agriculture graduate of University College Dublin.


Glenn Whelan

Glenn joined HSBC Corporate Banking in January 2011 after spending 4 years with the fund administration arm of the bank. Prior to this Glenn spent a total of 3 years with Bank of Ireland working in Exchange Traded Funds and in Credit Operations. Glenn holds a Bachelor of Business and Legal Studies Degree from UCD, a Masters in International Business from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business and also holds the Qualified Financial Advisor designation.
